What Is Tesamorelin?
Tesamorelin (TH 9507) is the full 44-residue sequence of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone with a trans-3-hexenoyl group attached to the N-terminal tyrosine. At 5135.86 g/mol it is the largest peptide in this catalog, and it acts at the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs.
The single N-terminal modification is what makes it usable. Native GHRH is cleaved within minutes by DPP-4 at its N-terminus; the hexenoyl group blocks that cleavage. This is a different strategy from the truncated GHRH(1-29) analogues such as CJC-1295 No DAC, which shorten the peptide to its receptor-binding core instead of protecting the full sequence.
It is also worth distinguishing it from the ghrelin mimetics. Ipamorelin and similar compounds act at GHS-R1a; tesamorelin acts at the GHRH receptor. Supplied as 10 mg of white lyophilized powder at ≥99% HPLC purity with a batch-specific third-party COA. The first batch is in final QC; request the certificate below.

A GHRH Analogue, Not a Ghrelin Mimetic
Tesamorelin is the complete 44-residue sequence of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone, modified at the N-terminus. It acts at the GHRH receptor on pituitary somatotrophs. This makes it mechanistically distinct from ipamorelin and the other ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R1a) secretagogues in this catalog, which act through a different receptor entirely.
Why the Hexenoyl Group
Unmodified GHRH is cleaved rapidly by DPP-4 at the N-terminus. Attaching a trans-3-hexenoyl group to Tyr1 blocks that cleavage and substantially extends the half-life — the single modification that makes the full-length sequence practical to work with.
Full-Length Versus Truncated Analogues
Most GHRH analogues in research use are truncated to the first 29 residues, which contain the receptor-binding region — CJC-1295 No DAC is one such example. Tesamorelin keeps all 44 residues, making it the longest peptide in this catalog at 5135.86 g/mol and a useful comparator for studies on the contribution of the C-terminal region.
Clinical Context
Tesamorelin has been studied in clinical trials for HIV-associated lipodystrophy and is approved for that indication in some jurisdictions. Those trials used a pharmaceutical-grade product under medical supervision and have no bearing on the research use of this reference material.
Limitations
A second registry number, 804475-66-9, appears alongside the primary CAS in at least one database, and sources disagree on storage temperature. Published sequence data for this compound comes largely from secondary vendor sources rather than a primary reference standard.

Reconstitution Procedure
Allow the vial to reach room temperature. Introduce sterile or bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner glass wall — do not inject directly onto the powder cake. Swirl gently until fully dissolved; do not shake or vortex, as this can promote aggregation.
