What Is Epithalon?
Epithalon — also spelled Epitalon — is a synthetic tetrapeptide with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly and a molecular weight of 390.35 g/mol. It was designed as a chemically defined stand-in for epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract studied in Soviet and later Russian gerontology research.
It is the most-discussed and least independently replicated compound in the longevity peptide literature. Reports of telomerase induction and telomere elongation in cultured human cells, and of lifespan effects in rodents and fruit flies, come overwhelmingly from one research institute. We list the compound because researchers ask for it, and we state the provenance plainly rather than repeating vendor claims.
Supplied as 50 mg of white lyophilized powder at ≥99.3% HPLC purity with a batch-specific third-party COA. The first production batch is in final QC; request the full analytical package below.

Origin and Provenance
Epithalon is the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, developed as a defined replacement for epithalamin — a crude pineal-gland extract. The great majority of the published work originates from a single centre, the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, which is an important caveat when weighing the literature.
Telomerase Reports
The most frequently cited claim is that Epithalon induces telomerase activity and extends telomere length in cultured human somatic cells. These reports come from the same research group and have seen limited independent replication, so they should be treated as preliminary rather than established.
Model-Organism Studies
Rodent and Drosophila studies from the originating group report effects on lifespan, oestrous function and circadian melatonin rhythm. Study designs, strain selection and statistical reporting in this body of work have been questioned in later commentary.
Analytical Behaviour
At 390.35 g/mol, Epithalon is a very small, highly polar peptide. It elutes early under reverse-phase HPLC and gives a simple, easily interpreted mass spectrum, which makes identity confirmation straightforward relative to the large acylated peptides in this catalog.
Limitations
Vendor marketing around this compound makes strong longevity claims that the published evidence does not support. One supplier data sheet also describes an alternative γGlu–γAsp linkage that conflicts with the standard Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly structure; verify the structure against your batch COA.

Reconstitution Procedure
Allow the vial to reach room temperature. Introduce sterile or bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner glass wall — do not inject directly onto the powder cake. Swirl gently until fully dissolved; do not shake or vortex, as this can promote aggregation.
